Spokane to lose 160 million dollars?

In a recent review of the budget from Mayor Verners staff, we were told the city has invested 160 million plus in the Fannie and Freddie Companies.

We were told since Uncle Sam was baling Fannie and Freddie out we were ok. Basically the money the city invested in Fannie and Freddie was taxpayer money and since the taxpayer is baling Fannie and Freddie out we get to pay twice. Even though it was stated the city stopped buying Fannie and Freddie 3 years ago because it they not look good, but the city has started buying it again because the government is coming to the rescue. What?

The city makes some investment decisions that don’t work out; the taxpayers get to pay again. Isn’t our own city doing just what Fannie and Freddie and the others did to get us into this mess? Taking high-risk and relying on the taxpayer to bail them out when it takes a nosedive? It isn’t just in Washington folks it is right here in good ol Spokane.

The O-man, Barack Hussein Obama, is an eloquently tailored empty suit. No resume, no accomplishments, no experience, no original ideas, no understanding of how the economy works, no understanding of how the world works, nothing but abstract empty rhetoric devoid of real substance.

He has no real identity. He is half-white, which he rejects. The rest of him is mostly Arab, which he hides but is disclosed by his non-African Arabic surname and his Arabic first and middle names as a way to triply proclaim his Arabic parentage to people in Kenya. Only a small part of him is African Black from his Luo grandmother, which he pretends he is exclusively.

What he isn’t, not a genetic drop of, is ‘African-American’, the descendant of enslaved Africans brought to America chained in slave ships. He hasn’t a single ancestor who was a slave. Instead, his Arab ancestors were slave owners. Slave-trading was the main Arab business in East Africa for centuries until the British ended it.

Let that sink in: Obama is not the descendant of slaves, he is the descendant of slave owners. Thus he makes the perfect Liberal Messiah.

It’s something Hillary doesn’t understand – how some complete neophyte came out of the blue and stole the Dem nomination from her. Obamamania is beyond politics and reason. It is a true religious cult, whose adherents reject Christianity yet still believe in Original Sin, transferring it from the evil of being human to the evil of being white.

Thus Obama has become the white liberals’ Christ, offering absolution from the Sin of Being White. There is no reason or logic behind it, no faults or flaws of his can diminish it, no arguments Hillary could make of any kind can be effective against it. The absurdity of hypocrisy clothed in human flesh being their Savior is all the more cause for liberals to worship him:Credo quia absurdum, “I believe it because it is absurd”.

Thank heavens that the voting majority of Americans remain Christian and are in no desperate need of a phony savior.

His candidacy is ridiculous and should not be taken seriously by any thinking American.

Spokane Police Morale Down, no more hitting below the belt

Boo-hoo-hoo, did you read the story about the cop who kicked a cuffed man in the face and got reported to his superiors by another officer? I guess it has broken the unwritten rule of no telling on others to the point where morale is falling at SPD.

I mean if the instructor of the tactical unit can’t kick a guy when he is down, who can and when and who is watching?

The police are threatening to de-police where as they just cover 911 calls and the rest of the time they can be found at dunkin donuts.

Boo-hoo-hoo one of their own finally gets some truth thrown on their uniform and they are ready to throw in the bag.

Come on stand up like men and women, the citizens have lost 13 lives, what is one career?

Dr. Kim Thorburn for County Commissioner

She is running against Todd Mielke for County Commish.
First candidate to come by and visit. Nice lady. I may not agree with everything, but I may vote for her. (Shock). I am still upset over Mielke not asking for a new contract for services on janitorial, as well as the raceway park deal. I also told her about the police pension deal . She was shocked to hear that. Her staff would never have had that luxury of retirement options. I doubt she will forget . Hard to tell what she can do. She says she is a fiscal conservative money wise.
Interesting and a very pleasant visit.

Unfair police pension system for taxpayers

It was recently reported in the Spokesman Review how a Spokane Police officer can go out and work part time and;

Under rules of the police pension system, an officer’s retirement is based on the “final average salary” from the last five years of employment. According to an analysis of city payroll records, many of the Spokane officers who earn the most off-duty pay is in the final five years of their careers. The money they add to their pensions is often called their “freedom fund,” according to one officer.
I’m not bothered by it. The public policy questions I’ve never really thought of,” Chief Kirkpatrick said when asked about the ability of officers to boost their pensions and compete with the private sector.
For example, now-retired Officer Jerome Mertens made $10,654 in off-duty work in 2003. That was added to his regular pay of $66,795 and $24,419 in overtime, for an annual gross income of $101,867 in 2003.
In 2004, Mertens made $9,070 in off-duty work, bumping his gross income to $115,354.
The following year, Mertens pulled in $4,815 in off-duty work, pushing his 2005 income to $102,288. He retired in September 2006 after earning $89,853 from off-duty work, his regular pay and overtime, city payroll records show.
Based on those figures, his monthly LEOFF II retirement check is estimated to be $4,498. State retirement experts acknowledge his monthly retirement check would be substantially less if he hadn’t been given credit for about $10,000 a year in off-duty work, although they couldn’t immediately provide an exact amount.
